Post-COVID Houses

While we can’t claim to be avid readers of Elle Decor, it recently published an interesting article about the future of home in a post-COVID world.

The authors asked nine architects and designers to offer their insights and predictions for post-pandemic design. While each response was interesting and well-considered, a few of them really resonated with us:

  • The indoor-outdoor connection is critical. It’s one way that we share space with family and can have private places to reflect and recharge.

  • The work-from-home trend was accelerated. A home office isn’t just nice anymore, it’s necessary. A home designed to be productive, invigorating and calming has never been more important.

  • Proper air ventilation and filtration is essential to the wellbeing of everyone in the house.
